Four Cylinder Revival
The four cylinder is making a comeback in the Hot Rodding world. One could argue that Hot Rodding is going back to its four cylinder pre-flathead V-8 roots in the Model T and Model A.
So what engines are hot rodders hunting for now days? The GM Quad Four (four cylinder, four valves per cylinder) appears to be on the short list. Even some traditional hot rodders (that have Twitter accounts) are lusting after the Quad Four. Definitely a trend here.
The Quad Four is attractive to traditional hot rodders for its resemblance to the Offenhauser four cylinder engine from the early days of hot rodding.
